The R5 has only one job: to get to the summit quickly. Even though fame and lots of fans await a mountain finish, it's usually not the only climb of the day. And while most races aren't won in the downhills, they can certainly be lost there. A mountain bike that can't handle a switchback feels like a cup of decaf coffee. The R5 is now in its fourth iteration. While the weight and stiffness have changed over the years, the handling, balance and unmatched downhill capabilities have remained the same since day one.
FASTER IN EVERY WAY
The new R5 frame is 130g lighter than the previous model - a 16% reduction in an already light frame. And while aerodynamics weren't as much of a priority when developing this frame as it would be with an S5 or P5, moving the pipes inwards reduced drag by 25g.
