Oakley DRT5 helmet with innovative goggle holder and many new features!
Designed and tested by mountain bikers in close collaboration with downhill world champion Greg Minnaar, the Oakley DRT5 MTB helmet equips riders with innovations designed to provide the highest levels of performance and protection. With their help, potential and self-confidence should be ignited to master technical descents and tackle the merciless climbs back to the summit.
Glasses holder
Designed with eyewear in mind, the DRT5 features an innovative “Eyewear Landing Zone” where glasses can be safely stored during rides up, down, and during breaks. This zone works with finger-like hooks on the back openings of the helmets that can be easily opened and closed while riding. When open, they securely hold the temples of the glasses and lie flush with the outer surface of the helmet when closed. If you want to keep your glasses on your helmet when going downhill, the hooks can be closed and secure them even on bumpy rides.
Washable silicone gel sweat protector
The washable silicone gel sweat protection in the interior ensures optimal air circulation and temperature regulation, as well as wicking sweat away from the forehead and keeping the glasses streak-free.
Adjustability
The helmet's BOA FS1-1 system is a height-adjustable 360° design that is intended to provide the optimal fit for every head and at all times. The TX1 Lace Retention System is designed for less interference from the glasses and less pressure against the temples. It ensures that the glasses lie flat against the driver's head, ensuring a natural fit. In order to be able to conveniently store goggles, the visor of the Oakley DRT5 offers six latches with more than 60° adjustment radius on the joints.
MIPS
Rider protection is always at the forefront of every Oakley helmet design and the DRT5 is no different. It offers the proven MIPS Brain Protection System and a low-friction surface, which is intended to weaken transmitted rotational movements in the event of falls against the head and thus better protect the brain from shock.
Greg Minnaar's input
Athlete and Oakley Eyewear, Helmet and Performance Wear Ambassador Greg Minnaar played a key role in the research and development for the DRT5. His experience was incorporated into five key phases including testing the first clay models, modifications to the visor and the first 3D version of the helmet.
